If your a fan of One Piece then you would know about the Will of D. and think that they are some how related. What the D. stands for, or how some of the characters are related is not yet known.
D. is an initial that some of the One Piece characters possess. The common term for this connection is "The Will of D" as stated by Dr. Hiluruk(139 years old). The truth behind the D. is unknown. Oda promised to explain this in the future. We can only assume that all characters with D. are connected somehow, whether be by blood or otherwise.
All D. share some common traits. Traits that include, but not limited to: inhuman strength, unusual fighting capabilities, strong will, great ambition, fearlessness and individual unique personalities. To be exact, none of them act like normal people. They are probably connected by origin. I suspect that they are the descendants of the unknown kingdom that once ruled the world and eventually was destroyed 800 years ago by the united power of 170 nations(presently The World Government). The D.s are not necessarily blood related. For example, Jagular D. Saulo is a giant, a non-human.
They are connected yes. But in what way, we have no idea. As for what D. stands for, no idea on that either. Maybe Destroyer? Or Dreamer? Or Doofus?
They could still be related but since its been so long that the blood line could have branched off to other type of people maybe.
But oda better make it interesting either way :P
