I think it's because of the way he talked to Allen a few chapters ago, called him a devil, etc. That dropped his popularity tenfold.

I never really cared about his character too much, mainly thinking that he was just fodder for the backstory but after his little speech, I started seeing that he IS going to be fodder for the arc.
He makes his speech,
goes down to fight Tyki,
allows the others to escape,
sacrifics himself to be with original friends,
may or may not take demon Tyki with him.
His character is just about repenting his sins, from what he called Allen and what happened in his past.
i would say he is going to stay behind and fight Tyki to let the others escape, but that juat seems impossible now, as the arc is crumbling around them--making it impossible to escape anywhere. But if there did happen to be an exit somewhere my vote is that he dies to save everyone.
i think he survives the fight and saves everyone cause I think he has the heart of all exorcists. The reason I think that, is energy from cross and the other exos are pulled into him to make him stronger.
there should be an option for "He lost to Tyki, but manages to survive somehow and continue on as an exorcist."
because he's a noob exorcist without any prior training, so beating Tyki seems hard. and i don't think he will die, that will make the plot ridiculous
Chaoji's innocence seems really powerful though. He's practically holding the entire place up by himself. I think Tyki will keep harassing Chaoji in the next chapter to make him lose his grip and eventually all the rubble will crush him, though I'm not sure what would happen next.
I don't care what really happens to Chaoji, I'm still upset over the lose of my two fav characters though. *cries* His face in chapter 123 kind of freaked me out...*shrugs*
I can understand both side of those who want/don't want him to die. One; the utter pointlessness of his character up till recently; Two: his flashback was sad and gave him some heart; Three: his argument with Allen totally dropped his popularity, you just don't argue with the most loved character in the series and still be liked; Four: Sorry but Tyki was number five in the popularity poll; Five: you have to pity the utter hopelessness of his situation at the end of the newest chapter.
I'm done for now. <3
No, I'm still mourning Kanda and Road. *sniff* I loved them so much and I really wanted a flashback for Kanda's past.
