ok to clear this up...
original kakashi technique is called Chidori because when at high speed it makes the sound of a thousand birds with is what chidori means.
Raikiri is a more powerful and larger ranged chidori... thus it was renamed raikiri.. As mentioned before it has a different justsu classification because of the difference in power.

which although both are elementaly the same one has more power than other.. which basicly makes it a different jutsu. like saying naruto's rasengan is the same as odomarasengan... they are different although both are rasengan just one is larger than the other.
another example... swords... a small sword is call a wakisashi,, a normal is katana and a very large is called great katana. they are all katanas but because they have different length and weight they have different names... so they are not the same

there is a difference because of power... like a gun.. different calibers different guns.. although in principal they are ALL guns...
just the fact that they are in a different jutsu class should clarify this issue

raikiri = s
chidori = a (what standard users get when using the move)
raikiri = s (what Kakashi get cuz he made the move and knows how to use it effectively)
BUT, it doesnt really matter...
Sasuke owns Kakashi in shape manipulation.
Sasuke made all those new moves using the principles of Chidori.
and now Sasuke can throw his chidori, make a chidori armor, use chidori through his blade, while Kakashi still have to run up to his target and thrust it in.

maybe but I was making it clear that chidori is not the same as raikiri
we probally just refer 2 kakashis as lightning blade the english version 2 make it easier
nah.. this comes str8 from manga... Chidori and Raikiri are different ;p
