Board Changelog (New Features/Updates)

- Add Gender Info
Go edit your profile if you want people to know if what gender you are.

- Signature Image Size Limit
The maximum size of a signature image has been reduced to 500x200 pixels from 600x200 pixels. A 600 pixel width was simply too large and pushing the borders of the forums. All users will be given about a one week grace period to change their signatures if they have to.

- Forum List Changes
The Eyeshield 21 dedicated forum has been disabled and the (small amount of) threads have been relocated into the Shonen section. We felt it out for a bit and there just isn't enough interest to warrant its own board right now. On a more minor note, the Feedback forum has been moved to a sub-forum of site news/announcements. Fan Art has been renamed "Art Resources / Requests" and made into a sub-forum of the new Image Gallery (more on that below).

- Image Gallery Implemented
All members can now upload their images into the new Art Gallery. We currently have categories for Fan Art, Colorings, Signatures, Official Color Pages and Volume Covers. Image guidelines in the rules thread apply to submissions into this gallery.

The following additions have been added to the rules thread for the gallery,

:: Anyone can submit images into the official categories, but if you're adding fan art / colorings, please be sure it's your own work or you must have permission from the creator to post it.

:: Suffix all images with the series/chapter number it applies to (if applicable) for easy searching / navigation. For example: Naruto 365 Page 01

- New Posting Buttons
It happened yesterday but here's the official announcement... Most of the buttons have been changed to fit the design more.

- Donation Icons
Members who support the site will now get a badge on their post bit as a thanks for their contribution. There will be more forum perks in the near future for all donors, but keep in mind that our service will always be 100% free for all. We're never going to offer more manga or anime in exchange for your cash unlike other unscrupulous donation based sites.

- Gender
Take a look to the left. We added genders to profiles last week, but now it's finally been integrated into your post bit for convenience.

- New Icons / Smilies
As promised, all of the old smilies were restored, and several new posting icons & smilies were added. We'll be consistently adding more, so stay active and enjoy the forums.

- Advertisements for Guests Only
Due to the high number of guest leechers and being unable to meet our donation goals last month (over $100 short), we're bringing in banner ads to the site. It's pretty annoying to see 100 members and 1700 guests on the who's online list on Fridays, and if it wasn't for the handful of awesome individuals who donated last month I'd be writing a very different message right here.

Only guests who have not registered, or members who have not logged in will see the advertisements. If you want to browse the site without ads, just register an account! It makes us happy to see people spend 30 seconds of their time to open an account here to show appreciation for the hours we spend every week scanlating.

We'll be trying out a couple ad networks, but rest assured there won't be any super annoying popups or spyware junk (pm me if you see anything inappropriate being advertised), we're just trying to make ends meet on the server costs and hope you understand the situation.

- New Video Game Forum
A Video Game sub-forum has been added to The Watercooler due to several requests for one. Enjoy! If it proves to be successful, expect a couple more sub-forums in the watercooler eventually.

- Java IRC
We've added a powerful Java IRC client on the forums so that you guys can stop in on machines that might not have an IRC client installed on them. There's no install necessary (unless you don't have Java...) You can find the link on the top navbar, Enjoy!

- Minor Restructure, New Movies & TV Forum
Some forums have been moved around to make navigation easier. A new Movies & TV Show sub-forum has been added to the watercooler.

- Boredom Zone
Some members may notice their post counts are suddenly higher, this is due to the boredom zone's post count restriction being lifted. I felt that nulling the posts made in the forum this early on worked counter-productively in the ongoing development of our community. If you have any issues with this decision or suggestions for the forum, don't hesitate to post in the feedback forum.

- Thank You Hack!
You've seen this one in action on a few forums you visit most likely. It's a pretty useful modification as it lets people express their gratitude (namely to scanlators who post their releases here) who wouldn't have taken the time to write up a post otherwise. Here's how it works.

On the bottom right corner of every post on the forum is a new thanks button, shown below:

All you need to do is give that a click, and it will automatically mark up your name in a "thanks box" of sorts below their post, like below:

- Manga / Anime Reviews
We've opened up a new forum for reviewing any Manga / Anime episode, chapter or entire series that you're following. This idea is credited to Sangaz in our suggestions thread. Have fun!

- Username Changing
Members are now permitted 1 username change. You can make those requests in the following thread.

- Signature Limit Change
Members are now permitted 300 pixels in height on their signature, making the maximum dimensions 500x300 (this was previously 500x200).

- Archive Full Volume DDL Service Discontinued
This one hurts, but it was necessary. We're going to be shutting down our archive server (raikiri). This server previously hosted the full volume direct downloads for Bleach, Naruto, Eyeshield 21, One Piece, Claymore, D.Gray-man and Death Note in our scanlation archive forum.

Download Managers/Accelerators have been massively abusing this service ever since the beginning, despite our big red bold request not to. We're also falling behind on our server funds and cutting this service will go a long way to improving other parts of our website.

Sorry for the inconvenience, you can read most of the series we had archived on our online manga reader, and we'll be adding the others & much more shortly.

Note: This only affects our full volume DDL threads (now in our hall of fame forum). We are still providing direct downloads for all new/old mangashare / bludshock / blood-scanlations single chapters.
