The manga art style isn't amazing or anything, but I think the storyline is amazing.

I also like Scar, but I think he was better portrayed in the anime (which is odd, because I usually favor the manga...)
I dont really have any favourite character, but it would probably be Ed or Mustang. I want Flame powers....

i prefer the manga 100% over the anime; but that doesn't mean the anime is completely terrible--there are a few things i like about it...to bad i can't remember what they are, since i haven't seen the anime in forever.
