Q: Hello Oda-sensei! We can even read One Piece at the library! Even though it’s not at the library in my neighborhood, they have it at another one in my city and we can make a reservation via the library network. Even if the whole city doesn’t have any One Piece in the library, we can even put in a request to get it! Little kids can read One Piece for free! Ok, so now let’s start the SBS!
Oda: Ha! Wow, we already started? That snuck up on me! Wow, that’s some amazing information I just picked up here. Yeah, but…do they even have manga in the library!? But really!? I seriously had no idea. First time hearing any of this. Manga in the Library!? Well, I guess it’s a good opportunity for the little ones with no cash. Let’s all head to the closest library! Speaking of free, make sure to visit [One Piece Web] on the internet where we introduce the story to everyone for free!
Q: Hey! You better fix something! And you better put down the dirty magazine! Um…I’m talking about the disappearance of old man Garp’s scar. I (who am very bored) have checked and re-checked, from the chapter 1 to chapter 580, and his scar has disappeared…25 TIMES! (Donnn!) I’m trying to be very subjective here, he doesn’t appear very often… Sometimes it’s amazing how obvious the disappearance is! I know, people make mistakes. But you know, it doesn’t seem like you’re going to apologize any time soon, so as a punishment, I’m going to steal your precious dirty mag out of the back of the closet!
Oda: Rather, as the rivals of destiny appear…the scar starts pulsating and appears. Kinda? Usually…actually the truth is that the there was no scar, it’s a special type of scar that appears at those kind of times…WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT! Or rather, the truth is that he doesn’t have a scar! (that’s obviously not true). In any event, you give my book back now! Give it back! From here on out I’ll be careful, so give it back!!!

Q: Who is “Glasses”?
Oda: Um… Let’s pretend that didn’t happen! On to the next post card!
Q: Hello Oda-sensei! I’ll get right to the point. Could you draw out, in word form, what is going on in Luffy’s head? And also what’s going on in your head! I have a friend who’s brain seems to be half dirty thoughts and porn and the other half is games!
Oda: Drawing the inside of someone’s head meaning…the old brain map maker that was on the internet for a little while. Something like that would be ok right? Why don’t we go ahead and do a bunch of different folks! (note: the website Oda-sensei is talking about was an old cell phone web site that after putting in your name, birthdate, blood type, etc. a picture of an empty head would appear with different kanji inside showing what you were thinking about at any given time. Obviously just for fun.)
Luffy: Meat, Meat, King, Meat, Meat
Nami: Money, Money, Beauty, Money, Money
Sanji: Food, Nami-san, Women, Robin-chan, Food
Robin: Learning, History, Secrets, Ancient, Learning
Brook: Tea, Panties, Laughing, Panties, Tea
Zoro: Sword, Strength, Strength, Strength, Sword
Usopp: Lie, Run, Fight, Run, Lie
Chopper: Animal, Belief, Medicine, Doctor, Sweets
Franky: Perv, Perv, Steel, Perv, Perv
Oda: World Peace
In addition, all the crew have “Friend” written, not in their heads but in their hearts!
Q: Whitebeard Pirates shall here after referred to as the main force. Can any pirates under the influence of Whitebeard become a captain in the main force? Or to become a captain, do you have to have been in the main force for a long time?
Oda: I’d like to explain a little bit about the Whitebeard Pirates. First you have the Captain, Whitebeard, and his 16 divisional captains. These 16 all have the same standing in the crew. The division numbers are NOT distributed by strength. They’re all of the same level. These 16 teams are what make up the Whitebeard Pirates. Now the 43 pirate crews that are under Whitebeard’s influence. This is NOT Whitebeard’s crew, they normally act completely independent of one another. But, these pirate crews have the utmost respect for Whitebeard and come together when he calls. They are those kinds of pirates. In Ace’s case, the Spade Pirates were disbanded and all the members joined the Whitebeard Pirates. Seeing as Ace was their captain, he became a division captain in the Whitebeard Pirate crew.

Q: Hey! Thanks to what you, Oda-chan said, on the inside cover of book 58, my nickname has become the Huge Human Eating (year of the) Rabbit (Rabbit as in the Chinese animal signs that are assigned by birth year) and the Capricorn that swallows anacondas whole… What are you going to do to help me! (I’m pissed!)
Oda: Oh my! Is that so? So basically, it was decided when you were born, by a person you have never met, that you were going to be both a Capricorn and be born in the year of the Rabbit, right? But, you don’t like my little description. Well then it can’t be helped, I will take responsibility and think of your Chinese fortune and Zodiac reading here and now. I’ll be really glad if you’re happy with it. You are a [Rabbit who wears panties on your head] and [A Capricorn who thinks of nothing but perverted things while on a factory tour]
[Side Panel]
Capricorn (Goat) – Now I understand how you make…underwear…
Rabbit – I thought it was a sun visor! Honestly! Hahaha!
Q: Hello there! 18 yr. old Bob Dylan lover here! With regards to the title of chapter 572…it’s the name of a famous Bob Dylan song! The Times They Are A-Changin!! I was thoroughly surprised when I saw it! Do you like Bob Dylan too? On top of that, the title and the contents of the chapter 572 match perfectly! I’ve been totally satisfied! (haha!)
Oda: Yes. That’s correct. I did have a little fun sliding in that little fact that only those who like Bob Dylan would pick up on. Bob Dylan is a famous singer from America, and it’s not as though I know everything about the man, but I figured it would be the perfect title and so I just used it. When the chapter was published in Jump, it was simply written in English but then I realized that many people wouldn’t understand what it meant, so when comic 58 came out we translated it into Japanese underneath as well.
