Spam Monitors
How do You guys Feel about Appointing 3-4 long term Regular Members to be SPAM Monitors.
The Monitors should be able to remove suspect posts to a holding area until Regular Admin have the time to act. The Monitors should be strictly restricted to only moving posts from newcomers with less than 5 posts in the Forum.

or the mods can do it. Since thats their job.
-
Yup, that's a Mod's job. Wouldn't make too much sense to have this "Spam Mod" remove a post to "some area" only to have a Mod delete the message in question anyway.
-
I don't know their circumstances, but I suspect that the Mods are doing the best they can, given their individual lives and time zones etc.I certainly can't/won't adopt a harsh stance.
Perhaps my suggestion is the best there is, but I'm thinking that if they do need (a little bit of) help, more eyes and hands are always better than fewer.
(EDIT: I meant isn't in the Bolded Blue above.)
-
i don't see where they need help. I think the job they are doing is just fine. Spam posts don't need to disappear the second they appear. Do your part by clicking the report tab in the top right corner of the post.
-
Simple. When you see spam, tell us on IRC and we'll act. There is not a single moment that there is no mod online.
I'd say over the past few weeks where there were A LOT of spam threads and we acted pretty fast to remove them. And that's because there were a few members reporting those threads or mentioning it on IRC. In my opinion nothing should change.

Just keep hammering that 'REPORT' button. It seems to be happening with other forums as well as ours so these aren't isolated incidents.
-
Thanks everyone for your responses, I'll keep doing the "Report" button as I have been.
-
Biut don't report the ones that posts pics. let me right click and save as before you report. In fact notify me first. I'll finish up.

I vote for Paulbee to get mod status. :P
