^ This might not have been the first time (Natsu himself attempted a few time to obtain the Lightning). You would think that Thunder and Fire should be compatible with each other, but Natsu was even able to eat Etherion with is made of all types, although it might be simply considered as a superior element anyway.
Iron and Shadow does sound like an awesome combination, because each time he would use an iron dragon sword, there would be another one hidden in the shadow.
This probably means that Wendy will obtain the Light, seeing as her healing Wind magic should be compatible with the Light/Holy dragons-slaying magic.
This all will end anyway in creation of the Etherion Dragon-Slaying magician that will take on the final boss, the Dragon King of Apocalypse (with is probably powered by the other side of Etherion, similar in how it was in Rave, especially after seeing his breath attack).
Looks like Future Lucy might have been possessed by the Shadow as well, seeing as Jallal noticed that Zeref-like presence is currently using magic to fight, while it is Ratio that is fighting now and not Flucy.
