Measuring power levels in Bleach has been known to cause cancer. I suspect they are on similar level to YammJ, Isshin & Aizen(before the H-cube power ups)

It's quite possible that the Bald Monk guy is only a little weaker than Yama, then all of the other Zero members are only a little weaker than the Bald Monk, which would still make the 5 of them stronger than the whole 13 Division.

Did Shutara just imply that she was Mayuri's test subject that escaped from the science division on her own and was, or later become, strong enough to enter the Royal Guard ? This actually gives me hope that Mayuri might have made Kon at least VC-level ;P.

I suspect that these guys where the original death squads referred to by the Qunicy leader who served under Yamamoto. That's why that crazy guy was able to teach Unohana just as Yammy taught 8th and 13th squad captains. Age wise they seem younger than Yamamoto unless time operates slower in the Palace.


They are probably close to Yamamoto's strength level but not necessarily above it unless they had special powers granted to them from being in the palace.

Put aside Yama, and being stronger than Gotei 13 isn't that much to brag about since Yama is probably half the strength of it. I'm guessing The bald guy closes the gap between him and yama and the other four would obviously be stronger than the rest since Unohana, Kroyaku Ken and Ukitake are the only real deal among the captains. The rest are mediocre and Dog face and Toshiro are just kids compared to any of them.

I just realized, Bach wants the 5 war potential on his side. Could this be mean he wanted them for the purpose of facing these 5 captains from squad zero? So he could take on the soul king himself. It means the the 5 war potential could be as just as strong or stronger.

Yeah you pretty much have the same thinking as me I mean if Aizen was able to take down 4 Captains & 2 Espada completely on his own without even using his Bankai or the H-cube imagine what 5 guys at his level could do.

- Aizen & Yamamaoto are in class of their own same as the 5 members of Zero Squad who are on a similar level.


- Interesting point about the 5 war potentials....maybe I would guess he does need a special weapon to go against Zero Squad hence why he ran away when he knew they where coming.

- I mean Kenpachi was able to break 3 of his guys without breaking a sweat.

- The only real reason the Quincy where able to win so easily was because of their ability to steal Bankai's.

True that. Would be interesting to see how their true abilities like Opie when urahara or mayuri eventually figure out how to prevent bankai's from being stolen.

After reading the Mangastream version, I realized that Shutara is floating in mid-air, this probably means gravitational powers (bottom left panel), or it's just a mistake in drawing or redrawing :P:

So, only Kira dies because thinking up a bankai for him was too much of a pain, eh ? Or what was the reason again for him to be the only one to die, old known character, from SS (not counting people from science division).

Bach is over 1000 and yet he looks way younger than Yamamoto, so it's not impossible for them to be part of the ex-divisions... then again Juha mentioned that those divisions and it's members have died with them, unless they have changed as well.

So, let me get this straight, a person that has almost no one to heal, is way better than Unohana at healing ? Shouldn't it be the other way around ? What's the point of having a healing specialist at top+ level where his skills becomes useless ? Then again perhaps IT needs a highly skilled medic to life, or simply the things they fight are so powerful, that they need someone of such extreme capabilities, because people of the 0 Squad caliber are extremely small in number, thus need to be especially taken care off.

Aand, according to the Bleach Databook she's listed as the third highest ranked captain after Yamamoto and Aizen. Plus, Kyouraku is a lazy ass. :)

Btw, it was fun to see that our predictions about the Squad Zero captains last week was completely off, aside from bald monk being the leader. :D

The Mangastream translation makes the conversations come across VERY differently.

After reading theirs, I'm not so sure Unohana's mentor was implying that she was to become the next CC. I think he was pissed that she allowed so many to die because he felt it reflected badly upon him. Also, I'm sure he was basically ordering her to become an active fighter once again.

Right now with 3 Captains, 3 Vice Captains, & more down they need protectors that can DEFEND more than anything. The Zero Squad will not assist them as Soi Fon became painfully aware.

i reckon the zero squad, the late yamamoto, isshin and aizen are on the same level in terms of power. Yamamoto was the first and have created the gotei 13 not only to protect soul society but also to find captains with royal guard material. I think all the royal guards have the competence and a special something that makes them suited to protect the soul king. Isshin would have been one if he didn't marry a quincy/ human. Aizen would have been another if given the time and was not evil.

I also think the reason the zero squad seem to be "carefree" (not sure if thats the right word for them) is because they don't have as much duties and responsibilities as the captains. I reckon all squad zero had to do was make sure the soul king is safe. They might have plenty of time to dual with each other in the palace and do other stuff (hence the change in hikifune).
