It seems like Kenichi is stronger then simple 'disciple' level, he isn't even paying attention to Berserker, who is much more of a threat then any of the other Disciples there (he was compared to the Elder's fighting genius after all).
And it's about time Kenichi starts to improve above that, this manga will last 1500 chapters on the rate it's going lol

Yeah, after this chapter I'm sure Kenichi is above 'Disciple' level, he obviously isn't a Master but there's no way before he would had made a Master level fighter recoil like that.
