That the chapters go down, because these chapters were "108" episodes behind Episode 1. I mean That day when Ichigo met Rukia, was "kinda" episode 109? The difference in here is that instead of having a whole bunch of flashbacks that would take up 90 percent of an episode, we get a whole bunch of interesting episodes where we see the true story behind the Vizards, Arrancars, and the other captains and lieutenants that are now an important character in the story.
